Video Doorphones are a replacement for home security doorbells. A video doorphone system comprises 2 units; A Transciever (outdoor unit) and A Receicer (indoor unit). They are both connected by a coaxial cable with an RJ-11 connector. The outdoor unit has a camera lens and a bell button. When the bell button is pushed, it sends a signal to the indoor unit, which displays a live video stream of the visitor's face as well as what is happening outside with the help of the camera lens on the transciever. The home owner is thus fully aware of the visitor's presence and can choose to respond to the visitor's call by picking up the reciever or pressing the "answer" button on the indoor unit or ignore the visitor and even alert security personnels if necessary.
